Caught in the act

I finally was able the other day to get a picture of timmy when he has jumped up against the door, and got his claws stuck in the rubber

Trying to pull the handle down to let himself in

Can't quite tell the rubber damage he's done to the door

Few pics of the boys

Been a while since I last posted, and they've been to the Vets in that time.  Only for a dental check-up, and quick health check.  Happy to say both passed with flying colours, with perfect teeth and an athletic-ish build so the Vet Nurse was very happy.  Mcgee weighed in at a slightly heavier 3.5kg and Timmy 3.4kg.  Seems like more when you wake up and they're both on your chest with their faces in yours as if to get "Get up... We need food!"

They love sleeping in random positions

Why you try to wake me?!?

Hanging out his basket

Hunting the weeds

Again a random position to sleep in

Fun at the kitten hotel

So whilst me and Claire were living it up in London, the boys went to stay with their mama and gramps.  They seemed to have lots of fun, but most of it was aimed towards chasing Max around the house.  When we got their Sunday afternoon Max just laid their with his tail looking really fluffy, and a look on his face that said "If you don't remove these from MY house soon there will be trouble" hahahha!  Jackie said it was amusing watching them chase around as a pack rather than individual.  Stevie and Pheobe the other 2 cats were alot less accommodating that Max, which we thought would be the other way round.  Accordint go Claire Max used to be the Don of the trio.

I see you Max.....

Just biding my time....

Hiya... Remember me?!?

Cute yet deceptive

Looking cute right?
So now the kittens are being let out alot more, we've noticed that McGee tends to want to run to the end of the garden path, after his first night of getting lost and a search party being sent, and he tends not to go any further.  Timmy on the other hand will wander and wander till he gets scared, or bored, and then he will find his way home, and jump on the door till we open it.  For some reason McGee will scratch at the door, but timmy jumps up, and gets his claws into the rubber, and proceeds to bite the door handle.   Of all the times he's done this, by the time I get the Blackberry ready to take a photo he jumps off grrrrr!

Anyway I digress.  A few nights ago we noticed that after Timmy had wet our bedding whilst sat on the bed, and over the next few days he'd wet the cat bed, and the new larger cat bed we'd brought them.  Having looked around online for some answers, we're in the middle of trying to locate the problem, but the last 2 or 3 times, have coincided with Timmy coming back from a long walk, where he tends to visit a garden with the house next door to a large dog, and I'm not sure if he's been scared by the barking or not, but yesterday I didn't let him out, and it he used the cat litter, so I'm not sure if the 2 are linked or not.  Suppose keeping him indoors for a few days, no matter how much he whines and cries will enable us to see if he's been scared or stressed whilst walking out.
More cuteness
I'm also making a larger effort to make sure the cat litter is as tidy as it can be, altho when me and Claire are working days it's hard to keep clean!  Anyone got any other ideas as to what may be causing this, short of a visit to the vets if it carries on to rule out Urinary Tract Infection

Kittens vs Scalectrix

Last night, Claire set up a small track to see what the kittens reactions would be to the cars flying round the track and below is a video showing the results.  After around 40 seconds McGee decides to twirl for the camera a few times

I'm a kitten let me out of here

Luckily we're allowed to let them out or I fear they will grow thumbs and just open the window and let themselves out that way

Defending ones territory

So it's been 3 days since the boys went and had their castration, and so they were taken to the vets this morning, and they said it would be fine to let them outside now.  So I got this picture through on text earlier.  It's gonna be fun knowing there are atleast 3 large cats that seem to patrol the area, and only the other day after we'd let the boys out for half an hour, a big black cat with fur missing on his face decided to sniff around the garden.

This is my garden and I will defend it with honour

Just chilling in the sun guv... Honest

I've noticed from passing cats many times when it's sunny, that they love nothing more than sitting back and chilling out in the sun.  I caught McGee doing it Sunday morning, and walked into the Lounge to find Timmy also soing it in the lounge window ledge.  Luckily this time round I'd guessed at twhat he was going to do, so I pulled the blind up a little, and removed the fake flowers in the glass vase, which is slowly becoming victim to abuse from the ever increasing size of the kittens.

More Adventures with Timmy n McGee

So there is a little plus point about having a Spiral stair case.  The kittens like clawing the step above them, and dragging themselves across the step a little like a spider.  also they can sit on one of the top steps and look into the Kitchen as they're very nosey when we're cooking.  Another thing we do to tease and play with them, is use a pencil or pen and tap it on the metal beams going across the stairs, and the kittens love trying to chase and catch the pen as three photos below show.

I sees the pen

It will be mine

Get here you nasty pen

We can have them running up and down the stairs for a good 10 minutes chasing the pen when they're in energetic moods (Which is normally when we want to sleep but hey-ho)

Another vet visit today

So the boys are spending the day at the vets being neutered, so I'm guessing they will be really sleepy when we go pick them up later.  this weekend I did manage to get some rather amusing (at times) photos of the boys in action.

McGee hears something.. and gets ready to act
We let them out for half an hour this weekend, and they had fun exploring a bit more of the garden and the neighbours gardens.  This all came from a story behind the photo below, where McGee is trying to reach the ledge on the Kitchen window.  The other day Claire heard scratching comeing from the Kitchen and went to investigate.  Seemed that McGee had used the Ipod dock to enable him to push himself up and claw onto the window, pull himself up and wander along the edge of the window, before falling out.  The scratching was him trying to use the window to push himself back up so he could pull himself back in through the Kitchen window hahaha!
But I got out before hmmmm

Two Little Buggers

Thats what the kittens are turning into now. With Claire doing more Duty Manager shifts at the gym, she is finding herself having to be there for around 6am for the early shifts. This means the alarm going off at around 5:15 and this in turn wakes the kittens up. Yesterday morning tho they let me go back to sleep and did nothing.  This morning on the other hand it was a nightmare.  They won't let us leave, so normally I shake my keys at one side of the room, and then run to the door, since we're not letting them outside till after they have been neutered, on advice of the vet.  Anyway Claire gave them a treat and left whilst they were nom-nom-noming on it.  Anyway they started running around, up and down the stairs so I just gave in and got up with them and watched telly.  They decided it'd be fun to try and find the last remaining treat which was hidden down the side of their box of meat.  After chucking them off the worktop I went upstairs to get dressed, to come downstairs to find two VERY guilty looking kittens sat on an upturned rug with an empty wrapper at the side of them.  Both seemed to be an equi-distance away thus thinking solidarity in numbers

2nd course of injections

So Friday night was time for the kittens 2nd course of injections, and with Claire working I ended up taking them on my own, and I felt really bad.  There were 3 large dogs in that were barking their heads off when I walked in, and I could feel the boys bolt to one side of the cat carrier, and once I'd set it down on the floor I could see that they were shaking :(  Made me feel really upset for them.  Anyway once me and the vet had enticed them one at a time out of the cat carrier, they didn't wanna get back in  Typical of them.  They cried in the car on the way there, but I think the injections had made them a little drowsy on the way back as I didn't really hear a peep out of them.  (It'll be murder in April when they go have their manhood removed :O  I guess thats for a later post anyway.

They were pretty spaced out Friday night and we let them sleep with us in the bedroom and had little trouble.  Last night was a nightmare tho.  We'd been out in the day as Claire played football in the morning, and we went to watch Mansfield Town Ladies First Team later in the afternoon, before going to her mums for dinner.  Anyway we fed the kittens about 3 hours earlier than normal, and I think that was partly why they were complete buggers all through the night!!! Very little sleep was had by me or Claire and I imagine the boys had slept through most of the day grrrrrr

Cats find comfort in the strangest positions! I'd have a really bad neck if I slept like that

This weekend

Been a funny old weekend.  After plenty of running about and playing on the Saturday, then seemed to want to spend the whole of Sunday catching up on their sleep.  Unlike when I want to sleep, and they feel the need to try lick/nibble my blooming ear!

Anyway I was sat on the laptop yesterday when Timmy came, laid next to me and then proceeded to take some rather funny (if not uncomfortable to human) positions.

How he was comfy sleeping like that is beyond me Hmmm

I must have been making too much noise, cos he turned over and grabbed the mouse haha!

Return of PAWS!!

Hot on the heels of yesterdays post, I managed to capture the little buggers trying to open the Bi-Fold door first thing this morning.  They had tried it around 6am, and this woke both me and Claire up, but we managed to nod back off till my alarm went off at 7:45am.  Video below (apologies for it being on it's side and poor quality.  Filming on a Blackberry Bold first thing in the morning is not ideal)

Also last night, I managed to catch McGee playing with his treat stick.  They love nothing more than hiding it, and then fighting whatever object is in their way to get it.  Be it with them pushing it under my shoe (sometimes whilst wearing may I add) to under the rug etc etc.

For some reason he thought he may be able to take on the toaster, but I wasn't too sure so got it out for him

Following on from the Cravendale Advert

Following on from the post I made the other day about the new advert featuring Cats with Opposable thumbs, planning to take over the world, I was quite scared the other night when laying in bed.

Basically we have just had a new bi-folding door put up in the bedroom (Having previously not had one).  This has somewhat restricted Timmy and Mcgee's night time movements.  The scariest thing was the first night we'd shut it, I heard a bit of scratching which I thought was normal as thats what they do.  Anyway it stopped after a minute or two, and I saw something out of the corner of my eye.  It was one of them moments where you wonder to yourself if what you have just seen is real, and so you blink.... look away... look back... realise it's all happening and not in your head.

Anyway I saw a paw upturned in the little gap under the door, and it looked like one of the kittens was trying to get his claws caught on the bottom of the door to try and open it.  This made me chuckle but also scarred the hell out of me at the same time.  They'd seen us try and shut it like that before the handle went on, and so thought it's best to try it that way to see if they can open it.  It was a little like the photo below hahaha!

Washing Machine fun

One of the first things the Vets said to us when we went round for their first injections was how do they both respond to the noisy household appliances.  Well I think the photo below shows how Timmy is affected by the Washing Machine.

And it goes round and round and round
I also saw this similar photo on icanhascheezburger which made me chuckle
Maybe Timmy has locked his brother in

Speed Boxing Kitten

It's always an advantage for a kitten to be quick, sharp and ready should the inevitabl;e battle with "Suicide Cat" out on the front garden.  So with this in mind I got Timmy into speed boxing using one of Claires medals!

nb.  Suicide Cat is a ginger cat who lives somewhere on my street, and has an uncanny knack of running out infront of your car with very little warning!!

Obviously he's not very good at it, as that was his first training session, but I'm hoping with time he'll be as quick as Flloyd Mayweather

Cravendale Milk

As this is kind of car related, and I've posted it on my MAIN BLOG I thought I'd stick it on here too!

For a while new all we seem to buy is Cravendale milk (If not for the mad adverts with a cow, pirate and cyclist) and we’ve been collecting coupons for some of their collectables. We already have a mug with space in the bottoms for hob nob sized biscuits, and we were hoping for another item but they had run out! They have now relaunched their adverts.
Here is the old one…

And here is the scary ass new one!!

How scary indeed would an army of Cats with opposable thumbs be  Here’s some info on the new Cravendale cats!

Bertrum is a cat with thumbs. And plans. Big plans. He uses his thumbs to post daily updates, photos and general musings on Facebook and Twitter.
He’s a pro-active genius, trapped in the body of a cat. Who’s interests include chess, cricket, martial arts (traditional), and world domination.

Belly Tickling

For some reason Timmy loves nothing more than laying on his back, paws out stratched and letting you tickle his belly.  McGee is very reserved when it comes to this.  Last night Timmy was being a little bugger on the bedroom floor, spinning himself round with his claws as he lay on the floor, and I went to tickle his belly.  This was when he decided he didn't want that to happen and he was content playing on his own, and so he proceeded to scratch my hand and before I knew it my thumb was in his mouth as the little bugger tried to bite me   They do love nothing more than us fissing over them so I won't hold it against him.  How come you can buy kittens all the toys in the world, but they tend to love playing with an empty box or two
  See pictures below

You can't get me

Why you look at me like that?

They love Cricket and football

Those who visit my main blog will have seen this video of the kittens during the Ashes cricket series against Australia earlier this winter.

Trip to the Vets = Success

So the trip to the Vets this weekend was a great success.  Both kittens have been confirmed to be in great health, growing just how they should.  Timmy weighed in at 2.4kg whilst his fatter older brother McGeee topped the scales at 2.6kg   As was expected afterwards we had 2 tired kittens who tried their hardest to fight the sleepyness, which we found to be great as we could get on with stuff without them bugging us for attention.

McGee has now found it within himself to be able to jump onto the kitchen worktop, whilst Timmy aint got a clue how to get up there at the moment.  This is gonna equal trouble as this is where the Cat food and Biscuits are kept haha!

First Injections

Tonight the pair of them are going for their first injections!  I remember when we picked them up and they wouldn't do anything much other than sleep in the cat carrier! Oh how we're gonna have fun trying to get them back in it tonight to take them to the vets
The day they arrived looking like cute balls of fur

About our Kittens

Timmy and Mcgee were bron on the 10th October 2010 (An easy enough to remember birthday) and were brought as a bit of a joint Birthday and Christmas present.  We have had them since they were about 2 months old, and old enough to be allowed from the home we got them from.  Originally it was gonna be one of them, but as it was a mate who sold them we got a deal on 2.  It seems to have been a great choice as they are pretty much a tag-team when it comes to tearing around the house.

New Kitten Blog

Since the kittens are taking over my life and my other blog I've decided to set up a new one, where I can upload new Pictures and videos as they grow :)

I'm gonna try and post a photo or two a day
