Two Little Buggers

Thats what the kittens are turning into now. With Claire doing more Duty Manager shifts at the gym, she is finding herself having to be there for around 6am for the early shifts. This means the alarm going off at around 5:15 and this in turn wakes the kittens up. Yesterday morning tho they let me go back to sleep and did nothing.  This morning on the other hand it was a nightmare.  They won't let us leave, so normally I shake my keys at one side of the room, and then run to the door, since we're not letting them outside till after they have been neutered, on advice of the vet.  Anyway Claire gave them a treat and left whilst they were nom-nom-noming on it.  Anyway they started running around, up and down the stairs so I just gave in and got up with them and watched telly.  They decided it'd be fun to try and find the last remaining treat which was hidden down the side of their box of meat.  After chucking them off the worktop I went upstairs to get dressed, to come downstairs to find two VERY guilty looking kittens sat on an upturned rug with an empty wrapper at the side of them.  Both seemed to be an equi-distance away thus thinking solidarity in numbers

2nd course of injections

So Friday night was time for the kittens 2nd course of injections, and with Claire working I ended up taking them on my own, and I felt really bad.  There were 3 large dogs in that were barking their heads off when I walked in, and I could feel the boys bolt to one side of the cat carrier, and once I'd set it down on the floor I could see that they were shaking :(  Made me feel really upset for them.  Anyway once me and the vet had enticed them one at a time out of the cat carrier, they didn't wanna get back in  Typical of them.  They cried in the car on the way there, but I think the injections had made them a little drowsy on the way back as I didn't really hear a peep out of them.  (It'll be murder in April when they go have their manhood removed :O  I guess thats for a later post anyway.

They were pretty spaced out Friday night and we let them sleep with us in the bedroom and had little trouble.  Last night was a nightmare tho.  We'd been out in the day as Claire played football in the morning, and we went to watch Mansfield Town Ladies First Team later in the afternoon, before going to her mums for dinner.  Anyway we fed the kittens about 3 hours earlier than normal, and I think that was partly why they were complete buggers all through the night!!! Very little sleep was had by me or Claire and I imagine the boys had slept through most of the day grrrrrr

Cats find comfort in the strangest positions! I'd have a really bad neck if I slept like that

This weekend

Been a funny old weekend.  After plenty of running about and playing on the Saturday, then seemed to want to spend the whole of Sunday catching up on their sleep.  Unlike when I want to sleep, and they feel the need to try lick/nibble my blooming ear!

Anyway I was sat on the laptop yesterday when Timmy came, laid next to me and then proceeded to take some rather funny (if not uncomfortable to human) positions.

How he was comfy sleeping like that is beyond me Hmmm

I must have been making too much noise, cos he turned over and grabbed the mouse haha!

Return of PAWS!!

Hot on the heels of yesterdays post, I managed to capture the little buggers trying to open the Bi-Fold door first thing this morning.  They had tried it around 6am, and this woke both me and Claire up, but we managed to nod back off till my alarm went off at 7:45am.  Video below (apologies for it being on it's side and poor quality.  Filming on a Blackberry Bold first thing in the morning is not ideal)

Also last night, I managed to catch McGee playing with his treat stick.  They love nothing more than hiding it, and then fighting whatever object is in their way to get it.  Be it with them pushing it under my shoe (sometimes whilst wearing may I add) to under the rug etc etc.

For some reason he thought he may be able to take on the toaster, but I wasn't too sure so got it out for him

Following on from the Cravendale Advert

Following on from the post I made the other day about the new advert featuring Cats with Opposable thumbs, planning to take over the world, I was quite scared the other night when laying in bed.

Basically we have just had a new bi-folding door put up in the bedroom (Having previously not had one).  This has somewhat restricted Timmy and Mcgee's night time movements.  The scariest thing was the first night we'd shut it, I heard a bit of scratching which I thought was normal as thats what they do.  Anyway it stopped after a minute or two, and I saw something out of the corner of my eye.  It was one of them moments where you wonder to yourself if what you have just seen is real, and so you blink.... look away... look back... realise it's all happening and not in your head.

Anyway I saw a paw upturned in the little gap under the door, and it looked like one of the kittens was trying to get his claws caught on the bottom of the door to try and open it.  This made me chuckle but also scarred the hell out of me at the same time.  They'd seen us try and shut it like that before the handle went on, and so thought it's best to try it that way to see if they can open it.  It was a little like the photo below hahaha!

Washing Machine fun

One of the first things the Vets said to us when we went round for their first injections was how do they both respond to the noisy household appliances.  Well I think the photo below shows how Timmy is affected by the Washing Machine.

And it goes round and round and round
I also saw this similar photo on icanhascheezburger which made me chuckle
Maybe Timmy has locked his brother in

Speed Boxing Kitten

It's always an advantage for a kitten to be quick, sharp and ready should the inevitabl;e battle with "Suicide Cat" out on the front garden.  So with this in mind I got Timmy into speed boxing using one of Claires medals!

nb.  Suicide Cat is a ginger cat who lives somewhere on my street, and has an uncanny knack of running out infront of your car with very little warning!!

Obviously he's not very good at it, as that was his first training session, but I'm hoping with time he'll be as quick as Flloyd Mayweather

Cravendale Milk

As this is kind of car related, and I've posted it on my MAIN BLOG I thought I'd stick it on here too!

For a while new all we seem to buy is Cravendale milk (If not for the mad adverts with a cow, pirate and cyclist) and we’ve been collecting coupons for some of their collectables. We already have a mug with space in the bottoms for hob nob sized biscuits, and we were hoping for another item but they had run out! They have now relaunched their adverts.
Here is the old one…

And here is the scary ass new one!!

How scary indeed would an army of Cats with opposable thumbs be  Here’s some info on the new Cravendale cats!

Bertrum is a cat with thumbs. And plans. Big plans. He uses his thumbs to post daily updates, photos and general musings on Facebook and Twitter.
He’s a pro-active genius, trapped in the body of a cat. Who’s interests include chess, cricket, martial arts (traditional), and world domination.

Belly Tickling

For some reason Timmy loves nothing more than laying on his back, paws out stratched and letting you tickle his belly.  McGee is very reserved when it comes to this.  Last night Timmy was being a little bugger on the bedroom floor, spinning himself round with his claws as he lay on the floor, and I went to tickle his belly.  This was when he decided he didn't want that to happen and he was content playing on his own, and so he proceeded to scratch my hand and before I knew it my thumb was in his mouth as the little bugger tried to bite me   They do love nothing more than us fissing over them so I won't hold it against him.  How come you can buy kittens all the toys in the world, but they tend to love playing with an empty box or two
  See pictures below

You can't get me

Why you look at me like that?

They love Cricket and football

Those who visit my main blog will have seen this video of the kittens during the Ashes cricket series against Australia earlier this winter.

The boys happily watching the Australia vs England Cricket match.

Taking a dislike to Frank Lampard it seems
